HHSC Public Meeting on the 1115 Waiver Extension Application - July 21, 2015
The Texas 1115 Medicaid Transformation Waiver is a five year waiver expiring on September 30, 2016. The waiver's terms and conditions require HHSC to submit an Extension request to the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) no later than September 30, 2015 to request to extend/renew the waiver. HHSC staff from DSRIP, Program Operations (managed care) and Rate Analysis were present at the public hearings to give a brief presentation of the key components of the waiver renewal packet. HHSC's role at the hearings was to take public comments on the waiver renewal. HHSC did not answer questions beyond those requesting basic clarification at the public hearings. Instead, HHSC recorded substantive questions about the renewal proposal at each hearing and will post answers to these questions on the HHSC website.
